Hey Ho, Let's Go. Four words and everyone immediately thinks of the Ramones' biggest hit: "Blitzkrieg Bop" from 1976. Two years earlier, the American punk rock band was formed. The Ramones wanted to be different from the popular Glam rockers of the time; they despised the produced rock music of bands like Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin. "The Rock 'n' Roll we loved was gone," they once said in an interview. So, the guys accidentally started a new genre: Punk. Their trademark: short, fast songs without intros, solos, or any frills. In 1996, after 2262 shows and 14 albums, the Ramones (who changed their lineup several times throughout their career) called it quits. In 2014, with the death of drummer Tommy Ramone (Ramone is just a stage name), the last remaining founding member passed away. However, the band still hasn't disappeared from playlists around the world in 2016 - and certainly not from the wardrobes of young people.
