The variety of Gothic styles - from Nu Goth to Pastel Goth

Anyone who thinks Gothic simply means a lot of black is wrong: The variety of Gothic styles has grown enormously over the years and is still in constant change today. Although the color black still predominates, it’s definitely not enough to describe all alternative styles.It all started with Trad Goth: Elements of Punk and Rock are mixed with the dark elements of Gothic as we know it today. The style was born straight out of the New-Wave movement and is perfect for rocking in the club to The Cure or Joy Division.One of the newer styles is the Nu Goth style: Occult symbolism, kimonos with a lot of lace and big hats create a witchy vibe. Almost the opposite is Pastel Goth, which allows many colors and bright make-up. If you like it more comfortable, you’re guaranteed to find what you’re looking for with the Casual Goth style.
