The beast awakens - After it's been asleep for nearly six years! On July 22nd Despised icon are back with their new record BEAST (released through Nuclear Blast). Even though Despised Icon were inactive for several years, the Canadians have dominated the deathcore genre like no other. With the album THE ILLS OF MODERN MEN (2007) they achieved the well-deserved breakthrough as a band, and since then they've been established as an irreplaceable part of the scene. With two singers and the initial pig squeals, the band have developed their individual style. Despite all the brutality, Despised Icon have always remained catchy and recognisable to fans of the genre. With their latest album, DAY OF MOURNING (2009) they paved their exit and in early 2011 they played their last show in Montreal. Of course their rest wasn't long lived and their since reunion and performance at the Impericon Festivals 2016 (their second of appearances at our festivals) Despised Icon showed once again that they didn't lose any of their live charm.
