Last summer, we witnessed Eddie Munson delivering an epic guitar solo of Metallica’s top song “Master of Puppets” in the Upside Down. It seems that the producers of the latest hit series “Wednesday” have taken a leaf out of that book and adapted a song from the band as well.
The new series, a modern adaptation of the classic “The Addams Family,” skyrocketed to success within its first few days: it was streamed by 50 million households in just five days! This even dethrones “Stranger Things,” the only Netflix series to have achieved comparable figures before.
Since then, the series has also gone viral on social media: we see countless edits, fans express their opinions, and the popular dance scene featuring Wednesday keeps reappearing. In the fourth episode, the teenager dances to “Goo Goo Muck” by The Cramps, a choreography actress Jenna Ortega had come up with just a few days before:
Metallica fans, take note: Have you spotted this song in “Wednesday”?
Are you familiar with the Finnish music group Apocalyptica? The band describes their genre as Cello Rock and they are known for having covered several other popular metal songs. In the new Netflix series, we hear a string quartet cover of Metallica’s song “Nothing Else Matters.” Did any of you notice that?
Here you can listen to it again:
The series was directed by none other than Tim Burton. He is known for top-notch and dark films like “A Nightmare Before Christmas,” “Beetlejuice,” and “Edward Scissorhands.” His unique way of producing films is also reflected in the new Netflix series.
