Originally, Himmelfahrt (released in 2023) was supposed to be the grand finale of Subway To Sally’s career. But just two years later, it’s clear: the band is far from finished. With their new album Post Mortem – which translates to “after death” – they are making a comeback that’s nothing short of spectacular.

The album kicks off with the powerful opener "Phönix", followed by the title track "Post Mortem", both setting the tone right away: it’s about new beginnings and an unshakable will to keep moving forward. In their signature intense style, Subway To Sally tackle big themes, ranging from societal crises to personal lows. Tracks like "Wunder" and "Nero" make you think, while songs like "Stahl auf Stahl", a collaboration with the Warkings, bring back a heavy metal vibe. The ballad "Herz in der Rinde" and the dark "Kummerkind" deliver the emotional depth fans love about the band.

Post Mortem showcases the band at their absolute best – musically, lyrically, and in terms of production. From orchestral arrangements to punchy metal beats and quieter moments, this album has it all. Once again, Subway To Sally prove they’ve mastered blending their roots with a modern sound.

Be sure to check out the music video for the title track – it’s a real showstopper!

Subway To Sally comment on their revival as follows:

"The world around us is still changing. The prevailing feeling is that nothing is getting better – in fact, everything seems to be getting worse. While ‘the Black Death’ is over, the much-anticipated ‘Freedom Day’ after COVID never came. Instead, one problem seems to replace another. We are living in times of grand failures. Everything swings between darkness and euphoria. People long for distraction, for forgetting, for celebrating and freedom, even if only for a moment."
