One of the biggest announcements of the year: Slayer are returning with new live dates! Despite their dissolution in 2019, they will be back on stage as soon as this year.
Who would have thought? After Slayer, one of the greatest Thrash Metal groups of all time, had been sorely missed by the Metal community since 2019, fans will soon be able to experience them live again! This announcement came shortly after their guitarist and founding member Kerry King announced his first solo album, From Hell I Rise. Find out exactly when you can see Slayer back on stage!
2024 Festival Dates Confirmed
On YouTube, the band around singer Tom Araya posted a video titled "It gets you when you least expect it." They are definitely right about that because nobody expected such good news so early in the year.
The video shows an energetic live show by the band, accompanied by plenty of pyrotechnics and a great atmosphere - just as fans expect from Slayer! The joyful message can then be found in the description of the video as well as on their official website: The band is returning for two festival dates this year. They are as follows:
-
Sep. 20, 24 - Sep. 22, 24, Riot Fest: Chicago, IL
-
Sep. 27, 24 - Louder Than Life: Louisville, KY
These are two huge music festivals in the USA, featuring giants like Slipknot, KoRn, and Judas Priest. Could there be more dates added? That would be desirable, especially for Europe. The revival of the thrashers is a good sign in any case. We are immensely looking forward to the festival season when it becomes a reality!
For new updates from the band, it is advisable to keep an eye on their website. Currently, it is written in flames:
"A New Unholy Gateway
Coming Soon"
That surely means the band has a lot more planned. Excitement is in the air!
