It’s official! After months of speculation and a long wait, Linkin Park are back with new music, an album announcement, and even two new band members. As a fan, it's hard to know where to start processing all this excitement. Let's kick off with their new single!
Last night, Linkin Park released their first proper single since the tragic death of Chester Bennington. The song is called “The Emptiness Machine” and was even performed live right away. You can catch glimpses of it on their social media channels, like this video on Instagram.
Linkin Park On Tour With New Singer Emily Armstrong
And the new singer? None other than Emily Armstrong, the former frontwoman of Dead Sara, who is bringing a fresh, powerful voice to Linkin Park in their new era. She’s already nailed the band’s songs. It might take a little getting used to, especially since fans have loved Chester’s voice for decades. Still, we’re thrilled with what they’ve delivered so far. Congratulations, keep it coming!
A new drummer has also joined the band. Colin Brittain is now a permanent member, while Alex Feder appears to be filling in temporarily as guitarist while Brad Delson is away.
Their first show with the new lineup was opened by Mike Shinoda with the words:
"It's good to see you again."
After introducing all the new faces, Mike said:
“And in the role of Chester Bennington, this afternoon, is each of you.”
The stage was full of happy faces, and the crowd couldn’t have been more excited. It was an all-around successful comeback.
