The first concert of Slipknot's tour in Germany took place on June 20th in Hamburg. After so many news about the Nu-Metal band from Iowa, we now want to know what's on the setlist!
Recently, Slipknot announced on Instagram that they parted ways with their long-time member Craig Jones. Since then, a member in a new mask has been appearing at their shows - in Hamburg, they played one of their first concerts with this still-unknown musician. His name remains unknown.
Shawn “Clown” Crahan is also not currently part of this tour. He is supporting his wife through health issues and is therefore absent for an indefinite time.
Sleep Token as Support Act
Corey Taylor makes no secret of the fact that he is a big fan of Sleep Token, a relatively young but increasingly well-known British band. They will be supporting at two concerts in Germany. Like Slipknot, they perform exclusively in masks, which fits the atmosphere perfectly. Moreover, they released their new album, Take Me Back To Eden, in May, which has been eagerly anticipated by their fans.
Corey Taylor says about Sleep Token that they remind him of Slipknot's early days.
“I love the fact that nobody really knows who they are. [...] There are hints of early, early Slipknot there.”
He is already convinced. Have you listened to the new Sleep Token album yourself?
Now you probably want to finally see Slipknot's setlist. As always, the list may vary from concert to concert!

As you can see, a good album mix has emerged, from early songs to the current album The End, So Far from 2022. Anyone hearing “Prelude 3.0” at the start of the concert should already be overwhelmed with nostalgic goosebumps. Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses) is rightly considered by many to be one of the best Slipknot albums. It impresses with its versatility. Where the first studio albums were always loud and aggressive, this was the first to feature Corey Taylor's clean vocals, which delighted many fans. Those who join in the praise will be especially thrilled by some titles in the setlist, especially the encore “Duality”. With “Liberate” and “Eyeless”, really old memories come flooding back from the times of the iconic Slipknot album. In 1999, the nine band members released this disc, with Corey Taylor appearing as the vocalist for the first time. The hardness of the album stood out distinctly from the crowd of Nu-Metal bands at the time - something like Slipknot had never been seen before. Since their first tours, the band has also been known for extreme live performances. Always clad in individual masks and overalls, plus a palpable energy on stage, without which such aggressive music live would not have been possible. Over time, the mask designs have changed and completely new characters have joined with new members.
With new music and new influences, however, less harsh songs were also performed on stage. At the concert in Hamburg, Slipknot even played “Snuff”, a single from the album All Hope Is Gone, allowing fans to listen to one of the band’s strongest ballads live. At this point, it really became emotional. Yet Iowa, arguably the band’s hardest album, was also featured with songs like “People = Shit”. All in all, a true feast for long-time Maggots!
