An impressive picture has surfaced on Maik Weichert's Instagram account. Could the painting be the next album cover for Heaven Shall Burn?
The last Heaven Shall Burn album, Of Truth and Sacrifice, was released in 2020. The album was a major success and even reached #1 on the German album charts. Since then, there has been relatively little news from the band regarding new music. In 2022, Marcus Bischoff featured in the Caliban song "VirUS" and the Lord of the Lost song "The Future of a Past Life." Additionally, the Heaven Shall Burn song “Pillars of Serpents” was released that same year.
But today, Maik Weichert, guitarist of Heaven Shall Burn, shared several reels on his Instagram account. Each shows the creation of a large, impressive painting depicting a sea monster. The following text is included: “Dan Seagrave = top class”
Who Is Dan Seagrave?
It’s very likely that you have seen some artwork by Dan Seagrave before. He is an artist from England who has designed album covers for numerous death metal and thrash metal bands. These include Effigy of the Forgotten by Suffocation, Altars of Madness by Morbid Angel, and Penetralia by Hypocrisy.
