Freddie Mercury lives on in the hearts of fans – and now also on a stamp! To mark what would have been his 78th birthday, the late Queen frontman, who passed away in 1991, has been honored with a special tribute: the Deutsche Post has featured him in their series “Legends of Pop/Rock Music.”

A Tribute To The Queen Frontman

Only a few artists are immortalized on stamps, and Freddie Mercury now joins an exclusive group of music legends like Jimi Hendrix, who can be collected in stamp form. The stamp shows Mercury in one of his iconic stage poses – microphone stand in hand, standing in the spotlight. It was designed by stamp artist Jan-Niklas Kröger.

Where Can You Get The Freddie Mercury Stamp?

The stamp is available in select post offices in germany as well as online. On September 4, 2024, the Deutsche Post (German post institution) announced: "Freddie Mercury is the second figure, following Jimi Hendrix, to be featured in our ‘Legends of Pop/Rock Music’ stamp series.”
