This morning started off with a brand new song from an exciting, albeit not entirely unexpected collaboration. Bring Me The Horizon have teamed up with musician and streamer Corpse to release a song! Here are the details.
We're used to cool collaborations from Bring Me The Horizon. Just in their last single “AmEN!” they featured rapper Lil Uzi Vert. On his new album Pink Tape, which sees the light today, there is also a feature by Bring Me The Horizon on the song “Werewolf”. Now, they are moving forward with the increasingly popular trap metal artist Corpse. Together, they recorded the track “CODE MISTAKE,” which invites you to groove and headbang. This collaboration had been somewhat teased on social media before. Those who paid close attention could spot a hint in Oliver Sykes’ Instagram stories a while ago.
Here you can listen to the song right away:
Streamer or Musician - Who is Corpse?
The American rapper and singer, also known as Corpse Husband, originally started as a YouTuber. From 2015 to 2020, he released "True Scary Stories" on YouTube, until he gained more fame through his Twitch streams during the hype around the game “Among Us.” Over time, he built good friendships with other streamers, including Valkyrae, Sykkuno, and Disguised Toast. He released his first single “Miss YOU!” in 2020, but his musical breakthrough came with the song “E-GIRLS ARE RUINING MY LIFE!" ft. Savage Ga$p. The song went viral on TikTok among other platforms. The cover features US streamer Emma Langevin. In 2021, he was even featured in the song “DAYWALKER!” by Machine Gun Kelly. However, he has been making music since he was twelve years old. His current songs are mostly characterized by bass-heavy electronic beats, rap parts, and screams. When not collaborating with others, he produces his tracks himself. A trademark of the musician is his distinctive, deep voice. Yet in February 2023, he released the track “under the weather," sung in a higher pitch. Both his face and his real name are well-kept secrets. In the music video for “DAYWALKER!” the popular streamer Valkyrae played his part. Even in interviews, this fact must be considered and Corpse is usually represented by digital art as a masked person.
In an interview with Anthony Padilla, Corpse spoke about how difficult it can be to deal with sudden fame and keeping one’s identity secret for years.
“I avoid talking to people at all costs.”
To avoid revealing himself in public, Corpse wears masks and even avoids speaking on the phone with strangers. Despite this, he has often been close to posting a photo of himself on social media. However, it seems unlikely to happen anytime soon.
The artist's diverse activities are also evident in the world of anime. In 2022, Corpse was a voice actor in the series “Tribe Nine,” where he voiced the character Ōjirō Ōtori for the English version of the anime.
With Bring Me The Horizon, another successful collaboration has emerged. Corpse personally thanked singer Oliver Sykes in his Instagram story.
“Thank you for believing in me @olobersykes”
We are excited to see what the future holds!
