    Death Merchandise

Blazing guitar riffs meet hammering double-bass salvos. Furious growls go hand in hand with incredible guitar solos. Chaotic, noise-like sequences pair with experimental harmonies. Death are considered the founders of Death Metal. At the same time, they experimented with their sound more than any of their genre colleagues. The progressive and psychedelic influences in Death's music made the band musical pioneers of their time. With the death of frontman and mastermind Chuck Schuldiner in 2001, the scene lost one of its most talented musicians. Even though the founding father and innovator of Death Metal, Chuck Schuldiner, is no longer with us, the fascination with this unique band remains. Do you want to pay tribute to the Death Metal legends? With a Death shirt, you wear a piece of music history on your skin. You can also find more official Death Merch items in the shop.

    Death Albums, Tours, and Career

Admittedly, Death's career is marked by many turbulences, largely due to Chuck Schuldiner's eccentric and difficult character. Already in the early days – the band was founded in 1983 in Tampa, Florida – the musician had trouble finding a permanent lineup for his project. Therefore, he played a large part of the early demos almost single-handedly. In 1987, the band released their first album SCREAM BLOODY GORE via Combat Records. It is still considered the first true Death Metal album and is a genre classic. Even on the following LPs LEPROSY and SPIRITUAL HEALING, the lineup carousel continued to spin, with renowned musicians like James Murphy (Testament, Obituary) or Andy LaRoqcue (King Diamond) joining and leaving. After the band completed a European tour with Kreator without their frontman, who canceled without giving reasons, Chuck fired all members. Despite the ongoing internal turmoil, the quality of the musical outputs was not compromised in the slightest. The album HUMAN goes down in history as a technical milestone in Death Metal. The successors INDIVIDUAL THOUGHT PATTERNS and SYMBOLIC seamlessly continue this legacy. On the final album, THE SOUND OF PERSEVERANCE, Death leaned heavily towards Power Metal, with deep growls replaced by high-pitched screams. After Schuldiner dedicated some time to his side project Control Denied, he was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Unable to afford the necessary treatment, he succumbed to his illness in December 2001.
