There’s always something happening with Slipknot! Recently, a lot has been going on with the band: a new drummer, a yet-to-be-revealed member on samples and keyboards, a tour celebrating the anniversary of their debut album, and rumors about new music. There’s even speculation about a possible new album.

Corey Taylor and Shawn “Clown” Crahan revealed in a new interview with Alternative Press that they will likely start songwriting for the next album in 2025.

“Somewhere between 2025 and mid-2026, we’ll start writing. I think it will be sooner rather than later. We might be in the studio by the end of 2025. There are no expectations. No one’s in a rush, but we won’t drag our feet either,” says Clown.

Corey is also super happy with the new drummer Eloy Casagrande (Ex- Sepultura) and is excited to explore new sounds with him.

“Eloy is a natural talent as a songwriter. I believe he’ll take us to places we haven’t been in a long time. I have a lot to say, and I’m looking forward to doing many different things,” says Corey.

But it’s not just musically that things are changing for Slipknot – Corey’s mental health is steadily improving as well. Earlier this year, Corey had to cancel some solo tour dates because he reached his mental limits.

“Many people have told me that going back to therapy or trying it for the first time helped them. I wish I had a better happy ending than I do. I only started dealing with these things this year. Many of my problems stem from being convinced I’m right, even when I’m wrong,” Corey shares.

That’s why Corey decided to go into therapy and make changes in his life.

“I realized that my drive for work and everything tied to my ego was killing me. And nearly did. So, I’ve rearranged my life so that I’ll only work as much as I need to. I’ll never be away from home for more than two and a half weeks. I’m refocusing on the things I truly value. That’s the greatest gift I can give myself and my family.”
