Two years after the death of former Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison in 2021, a lawsuit was filed against the band. By the end of 2023, this became public knowledge, along with the details surrounding it. Now, the lawsuit has been dropped, bringing the legal dispute to a close.

The Allegations: Jordison's Death Used As Marketing Ploy?

Joey Jordison had not been a member of Slipknot since 2013, long before his passing in 2021. However, there were several allegations made against the band.

One of the claims was that 22 items belonging to Jordison had not been returned, despite promises to do so. Additionally, it was alleged that some of his possessions were displayed at the Slipknot "Knotfest" festival. The lawsuit also claimed that the band had used Jordison's death to promote their album The End, So Far. Frontman Corey Taylor and Shawn "Clown" Crahan, the band's last remaining founding member, were particularly criticized. Furthermore, it was claimed that the band had not expressed their condolences to Jordison's family, despite publicly giving that impression.

Slipknot pushed to have the lawsuit dismissed, and now the case seems to have come to an end.
