Were you at the Ring, or did you catch the spectacle live on TV? Either way, there's no doubt that this past weekend was filled with unforgettable moments that we'd like to recap for you.
1. Features Everywhere!
You look forward to seeing your favorite bands perform, and then it turns out they all know each other! Naturally, we were hoping for a live feature or two. And the fans were not disappointed! During Spiritbox's set, Sam Carter from Architects joined in to perform "Yellowjacket." Evanescence surprised the crowd with a feature by Jacoby Shaddix (Papa Roach), who sang "Bring Me To Life" alongside Amy Lee. At Machine Gun Kelly's show, Oliver Sykes from Bring Me The Horizon appeared early in the set to join in on "Maybe." Then, Bring Me The Horizon closed out with a feature from Courtney LaPlante of Spiritbox for the song "Nihilist Blues." It was one surprise after another. Which feature were you most excited about?
2. Amazing Weather
Can you believe it? The entire festival went by without storms, rain, or even many clouds! While Friday still had a bit of a chill wind, by Saturday it had all but disappeared. The sun definitely affected the mood of the festival for both attendees and bands—every day felt like a party. We’d love to experience it all over again!
3. Special Guest: Olaf the Flipper
If there’s one thing to be said, it’s that this year's special guest was a huge hit with the audience. The crowd sang along to the hit "Wir sagen danke schön" so loudly, you might have thought a headliner was on stage. Despite the crowd of rockers and metalheads, the Schlager performance was a smashing success! We’re definitely excited to see who the surprise guests will be in the coming years. Who would you like to see on stage?
4. Machine Gun Kelly - Magical Sunset
Who doesn't love a beautiful, romantic sunset? It might have been overlooked on Sunday evening, with all focus on the Utopia Stage, but Machine Gun Kelly incorporated the scenery into his performance by climbing onto a truss and positioning himself against the evening sun for the next two songs. Of course, this made for some fantastic images.
5. You, Of Course!
A big thank you to everyone who stopped by our Impericon booth! We hope you had a great time at the festival and will visit us again soon.
