After the great popularity of the first season of 2022, a sequel to "Wednesday" is already eagerly awaited. So let's get straight to the most important question.
When Does The Second Season Of "Wednesday" Go Online?
That there will be a sequel to Wednesday's adventures at the very special boarding school was clear very quickly after it reached record numbers on the streaming platform Netflix. Shortly after the series was released, 1.02 billion streamed hours were reported. This even surpassed the success of the "Stranger Things" series. Season 2 has thus long been announced, as you can see in this trailer.
Nevertheless, an exact release date for the series has not yet been confirmed. If we assume a production time of one year, it should be ready in fall 2023, but the series will probably not be released until 2024. After all, the strike of screenwriters and actors in Hollywood is still going on at the moment and therefore also affects the production of this series. Until the goal of higher pay and a regulated approach to Artificial Intelligence (AI) is achieved, this strike may still continue. Therefore, fans can only wait for more detailed information.
Casting And Characters In The Sequel
Of course, we can already look forward to Jenna Ortega as the main actress. In season 2, she will bring the character Wednesday Addams to life most authentically once again. Of course, Emma Myers as Enid, her roommate, can't be missing either. Unfortunately, Gwendoline Christie will not be returning in the role of principal Larissa Weems. We'll keep the reason for this to ourselves, though, for spoiler reasons. If you haven't seen it yet, you should watch season 1 before the release of season 2 anyway!
Above all, you can expect a new character of the Addams Family in the second season. Unfortunately, no actor has been announced for the role yet. It is still a matter of speculation as to which character it will be. Those who know the older films about the Addams Family surely already have some ideas!

If you want to avoid spoilers for season 2, you should skip this paragraph. Because there are already a few hints about what will happen next at Nevermore boarding school. For one thing, the Addams Family will play a bigger role than before, so fans of Morticia and Gomez should be pleased. The topic of friendship will also be explored, with roommates Enid and Wednesday. Most importantly, there will be action and sinister aspects again, both from actress Jenna Ortega and the monsters, as Tyler is also expected to return!
