The guys from Electric Callboy are re-releasing three of their most popular releases, this time on limited colored vinyls! What makes these three records special and what do they look like? Find out here!
Their recent releases have catapulted the German band onto bigger stages. And in general, a lot has happened around Electric Callboy; a name change, a new singer, and now they are re-releasing three of their most popular releases. The Scene, MMXX and Rehab will see the light of day again this year in a new, dazzling design.
From Castrop-Rauxel Into The World
Electric Callboy has only been operating under this band name since March 9th, 2022. The group was founded in 2010 under the name Eskimo Callboy and played metalcore/post-hardcore with passion. Electronic elements have always been their specialty - party vibes can be felt on every album. It all started in a place in the Ruhr area called Castrop-Rauxel. Since their early days, both their sound and lineup have evolved. David Friedrich took over the drums relatively early on and has not left since. Their former singer "Sushi", Sebastian Biesler, dedicated himself to his new project Ghøstkid in 2020 and is no longer with Electric Callboy. Instead, the band welcomed Nico Sallach into their circle, who had previously sung for the trancecore band To the Rats and Wolves.
New Ways And Breakthrough
New singer - new possibilities. But also a challenge. Nevertheless, Electric Callboy never let themselves be deterred and delivered one strong album after another! Since Tekkno, their music style has gained the nickname "Schlagercore" in Germany - no wonder with songs like "Tekkno Train" and their new cover of "Everytime We Touch"! If you want to party hard, Electric Callboy's metal sound is just right. Their concerts are always a blast, especially due to their growing popularity. The track "We Got the Moves" has already surpassed 65 million streams on Spotify! They have been announced high up in the lineup for Rock am Ring and Rock im Park in 2024, as well as for Rockville in the USA and as headliners for Jera On Air in the Netherlands. Their world tours now take them not only through Germany but throughout Europe, the USA, and even Australia.
With their name change in 2022, Electric Callboy took an important and big step in their career. They took the criticism of their previous band name to heart and adopted a name that fits their music much better anyway! The band released a video on YouTube on this topic titled "Current Situation & Name Change". In their Instagram story highlight titled "New Name", you can find more information from the band. In a post from December 22, 2022, they also addressed the criticism of their early lyrics.
"We apologize to everyone we have discriminated or hurt with our lyrics. That was never our intention. That's why we are already in the midst of taking these songs offline. We are a tolerant and open-minded band and against any form of racism and exclusion. Our music should be as much fun for all of you as it is for us."
Re-Releases In 2023
Since Electric Callboy changed their band name, numerous merchandise items have already been designed with the new name. But of course, all your favorite albums from the party band also call for a reissue! The Scene from 2017 was still recorded together with singer "Sushi" and is a classic among their albums, featuring Fronzilla and Little Big, and especially the hype song "MC Thunder" with YouTuber HandOfBlood appearing in the accompanying music video! The EP MMXX in 2020 then gave us the first taste of the music we can expect with Nico Sallach on vocals. The hit single "Hypa Hypa" reached huge numbers internationally, with over 36 million views on the music video to date. With the studio album Rehab from 2019, things continued to skyrocket - the guys just can't be stopped!
