It’s incredible how fast time flies – next year, August Burns Red’s debut album will actually turn 20 years old. Naturally, the band wants to celebrate this milestone in style, so they’ve decided to re-record their first album, Thrill Seeker.
A few days ago, the band posted a video from the studio to give you a sneak peek at the re-recording process. However, this time around, Josh McManness, who left the group in 2006, won’t be on the microphone. Instead, the band’s current frontman, Jake Luhrs, will be taking over vocal duties. Jake shared the exciting news with fans in an announcement video, saying:
“When I first heard ‘Thrill Seeker’ without being in the band, it absolutely blew me away. In my opinion, it was very progressive for its time. I remember being at a party when my friend John showed me the record, and I thought, ‘Oh my God, I want to be in a band that sounds like this.’ Little did I know that about six months later, I would get a call from Brent [Rambler], our guitarist, saying, ‘Hey, come try out to be the frontman of August Burns Red.’ This album was the beginning of my journey as the frontman of August Burns Red.”
So you can look forward to a great anniversary in 2025! Unfortunately, it is not yet known exactly when the new edition will be released next year.
