Merch shirts, hoodies, or posters are a thing of the past! While browsing the internet, we've come across some extremely interesting merch items that the world has probably never seen before. Today, we present our favorites, so brace yourselves for some exciting and unusual finds!
Eminem’s $350 Brick Bundle
When Eminem’s EP THE MARSHALL MATTERS turned 16 in 2016, the rapper came up with a very special fan item: a brick bundle containing one of the bricks from his childhood home in Detroit. The bundle also included the EP on tape, a t-shirt, and dog tags. And all this for just $350!
The Kiss Coffin: A Merch Item for Eternity
This is where the love for the band goes not just under the skin, but under the ground! In 2001, Kiss introduced their own coffin, which was quite popular among fans. The coffin was completely covered with a type of photo film depicting the band and their logo. The original version was available until about 2008 for a proud price of about $3,300. For bargain hunters, an urn later hit the market, priced at about $650. A real steal for a true Kiss fan, right?
Rammstein’s Sex Toy Collection
Rammstein is known for pushing boundaries and, regardless of the topic, they don't mince words. For their album LIEBE IST FÜR ALLE DA, the band released a limited-edition aluminum case that followed the theme of their video clip for the song “Pussy”. The case included – alongside the album, handcuffs & lubricant – six different dildos. Rumor has it that these were even modeled after the actual genitalia of the band members! In an interview, drummer Christoph Schneider revealed that this was just a rumor. In 2009, the box could be yours for 199 Euros, and like typical Rammstein merch, it was incredibly fast to sell out.
Justin Timberlake Equips You for Chopping Trees
In 2018, Justin Timberlake released his latest album. For the release of MAN OF THE WOODS, a pop-up store opened in New York that revolved around the new album and naturally offered a plethora of merchandise. The highlight was probably a $300 axe, which was inspired by the song “Livin’ Off the Land”. Who ended up buying it and now chops down trees to the sounds of Justin Timberlake?
One Direction Duck Tape
We're not sure why or the backstory, but in 2013 the newly formed boy group One Direction launched their own tape. It was a simple roll of tape featuring the band members. The product cost about $25 back then. Well, if you’re a DIY fan and a One Direction fan at the same time, the tape probably came in handy, right?
The Rolling Stones Phone
iPhones are yesterday's news! Long before the release of the first iPhone, the Rolling Stones launched their own phone. As you might expect, it was shaped like the band's iconic logo and was sold as part of the album release for HOT LICKS. The corded phone was actually functional! From time to time, this vintage merch product pops up for sale online, where it can fetch several hundred dollars.
Metallica Provides Light in Your Home
One of Metallica's most famous songs is undoubtedly “Enter Sandman”! It contains the lyrics “exit light, enter night” and hence the idea for the following quirky merch product: a Metallica cover for your light switch, printed with the words “exit light”.
Alice Cooper Mascara
In 1973, Alice Cooper released his own mascara, which has since become a true treasure for fans. Back then, you could buy the product for just $2.95. Today, if one of the Whiplash Mascaras appears for sale online, you can expect to pay about $1,800. You probably wouldn't want to actually use it at that price.
Hot off the Press: Korn’s Own Makeup Palette
All the products mentioned in this article are no longer freely available for purchase; they are typically offered online for a lot of money. Korn's new makeup palette is different: the band announced at the end of January that they were releasing their own compilation of eyeshadows, which comes in a stylish Korn design. Currently, the palette is sold out, but there seems to be a restock coming, for which you can sign up on the website. For $22, the palette could soon be yours!
