In the world of cartoons, it's not uncommon for celebrities from the real world to make guest appearances in fictional universes. Of course, several rock and metal bands have also made their mark on animated series. We've picked out a few appearances for you, and one thing we can promise: it's quite cool to see how the band members have been animated!
Green Day in “The Simpsons”
Probably not a big surprise, as in arguably one of the most popular cartoons ever, cameos are quite frequent. Green Day didn't perform their own song in the series, but rather sang the show's intro. Check out their appearance in “The Simpsons” here:
Kiss in “Family Guy”
It's almost expected that one of the most famous rock bands of all time would make an appearance in a cartoon! In “Family Guy,” Kiss performed a huge concert, attracting many fans:
Metallica in “Dave the Barbarian”
This cameo is a bit different from the others: Metallica didn't perform live in the show, nor were the band members transported into the series as true-to-life animations. Instead, James Hetfield & Lars Ulrich lent their voices to two dragons:
Judas Priest in “The Simpsons”
Yes, another appearance in “The Simpsons”! However, we definitely don't want to withhold the cartoon version of the British metal band from you:
Dave Mustaine in “Duck Dodgers”
Dave Mustaine, the founder of Megadeth, delivered an impressive performance in the cartoon. We find it quite amusing that the band is introduced as “Megaduck” at the beginning. Just take a listen:
Axl Rose in “New Looney Tunes”
The singer from Guns N’ Roses rocked out with Bugs Bunny & Co. in the new iteration of the “Looney Tunes”:
Robert Smith in “South Park”
Okay, our last clip is definitely quite out there: we see Robert Smith of The Cure helping to defeat a giant robot. Fortunately, he manages to do quite well, but see for yourself:
