As the name of the festival might suggest, it’s not typically associated with the metal and hardcore scene. However, on June 16, Knocked Loose delivered a performance at the festival that defied all expectations.
Despite a lineup featuring headliners like Kendrick Lamar and Odesza, and popular acts like Sheryl Crow, few would anticipate a hardcore punk act to make an appearance. Yet, it seems that no one objected to including the band from Kentucky in the lineup, allowing them to perform last Friday at the festival in Manchester, Tennessee. The crowd was ecstatic! Energy was not only evident in Knocked Loose's set but also in the mosh pit. Clearly, even a mainstream festival can be rocked by a metal show. Would you go see it yourself?

What are Knocked Loose known for?
Founded in 2013, the band celebrates its 10th anniversary this year! The guys from Kentucky are considered one of the most popular hardcore groups of our time. Their latest release was the 2021 EP A Tear in the Fabric of Life, a concept record that deals with the heavy topic of grief, specifically concerning someone who loses a loved one in a car accident. An animated short film that accompanies the EP can be viewed on YouTube. Frontman Bryan Garris and his bandmates excel at addressing emotional topics and artistically bringing them to life. Furthermore, their concerts are always filled with raw energy, a feast for every metalcore fan. It’s no surprise the band is becoming increasingly well-known and popular. This year, they are also touring Europe, so grab your calendar!
