Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin likes to write a blog article every now and then, with news of all kinds. Recently, in a new post, he revealed which Game of Thrones episodes he personally enjoys the most!

On August 29, George R.R. Martin, author of the popular fantasy book series Game of Thrones, once again published a blog post. The post is titled "Perfect Episodes." In it, he addresses an article published by Vanity Fair magazine that lists "25 Perfect TV Episodes From the Last 25 Years". As you can probably guess by now, a Game of Thrones episode was also included in the list. And it's actually one of the episodes that Game of Thrones fans won't soon forget. It's the ninth episode of the second season: "Blackwater". George R.R. Martin himself wrote this episode, which he also addresses in his blog.

They are talking about “Blackwater,” one of the episodes I wrote for GAME OF THRONES.   (I scripted four.  And yes, “Blackwater” is my own favorite of those, although I thought “The Lion and the Rose” turned out very well too, and I have a soft spot for that one).

The entire episode revolves around the Battle of the Blackwater, in which the capital King's Landing is attacked by Stannis Baratheon's fleet. Therefore, the Lannisters and the Baratheons are the main focus of the plot, with Tyrion Lannister right in the centre, of course. Vanity Fair writes about the episode:

It makes you yearn for an alternate universe where Martin had written every single Game of Thrones script.

Needless to say, fans of the fantasy saga are still impatiently waiting for the end of the "A Song of Ice and Fire" book series, which is still missing two volumes. There is no official release date, but in his blog the author keeps his fans updated about his work on them. Let's hope for an upcoming completion!
