It’s that time of year for retrospectives - time to celebrate the greatest releases of 2024. Today, we’re focusing on the music videos our favorite bands have given us. We asked you on Instagram to share your picks for the best music videos of the year. Your responses were loud and clear, and we’re excited to reveal the Top 3 from the community!

1st Place: Saltatio Mortis - Darkenguard feat. Blind Guardian

The music video for the title track of Saltatio Mortis’ latest album Finsterwacht was your clear winner this year! And it’s easy to see why - this clip is nothing short of epic, with a runtime of over eleven minutes. And that’s not even the Director’s Cut, released in late May, which clocks in at an impressive 16:29! Together with Blind Guardian, the band put their heart and soul into this track and its accompanying video, visually bringing the Darkenguard story to life alongside the music. A well-deserved first place in our Best Music Videos of the Year!

2nd Place: Ice Nine Kills - A Work of Art

Things are about to get seriously creepy! If you’re a horror movie fan, you probably haven’t missed all the buzz around "Terrifier 3" this year, the latest installment in the terrifying film series featuring Art the Clown. Ice Nine Kills are no strangers to drawing inspiration from horror films, and their video for "A Work of Art" is no exception. Many of you picked this video as your favorite of the year, and for good reason - it even stars David Howard Thornton himself as Art the Clown!

But beware: the video comes with a content warning for its graphic content, so proceed with caution.

3rd Place: While She Sleeps - To the Flowers

The emotional video for "To the Flowers" by While She Sleeps, from their current album Self Hell, also made it into your Top 3 music videos of 2024. Both the song and the video leave a lasting impression, moving and inspiring viewers alike. We’ll let it speak for itself.
