Image: Slipknot band
Clown from Slipknot posted a photo of a mask on social media. Now there is wild speculation about what's going on.
With his new post on Instagram, Shawn "Clown" Crahan once again caused excitement among Slipknot fans yesterday. The photo shows a mask that bears a strong resemblance to the masks of their first drummer and founding member Joey Jordison. He has not been a member of Slipknot since 2013 and tragically passed away in 2021 due to a serious illness. The comment function for this post has been disabled, but there is still lively discussion on Reddit.
In memory of Joey Jordison
The announcement of the separation from Joey Jordison took place on December 12, 2013. So it's exactly ten years ago now. Many speculations are therefore that the image of the mask was posted online in memory of Joey Jordison.
Of course, there was also consideration as to whether the post could have something to do with the announcement of a new band member. After all, Jay Weinberg, Jordison's successor, recently had to depart from Slipknot as well. And previous replacements have shown that a picture of a new mask is often posted shortly before the official announcement of a new band member. In this case, though, the strong resemblance should be enough evidence that this photo was posted in memory of Joey.
