It’s almost time for a new region in the fantasy RPG Genshin Impact: With the 5.0 update, you can expect the new Archon Quest in Natlan and many new characters!
From Fontaine to Natlan - it won’t be long until the next major update of Genshin Impact. The Chinese fantasy action RPG from miHoYo is moving to the next stage. This means: new region, new quests, new characters, and more lore! Of course, there are already plenty of teaser videos giving us all a good look into the Pyro region.
Version 5.0 Update: Date
Just today, Version 4.8 went live, bringing us the major summer event of the year: “Summertide Scales and Tales” and the new character “Emilie.” This event will keep us entertained until Version 5.0. Previously, after 3.8 came Version 4.0 in the preceding region Sumeru, so we can expect a similar jump this year. Accordingly, the next update is anticipated to be at the end of August. The European server is expected to receive it on August 28th (August 27th in the USA). You can start counting down the days!
Trailer, New Characters & Pyro Archon
With Natlan as the region of fire and war, we are also approaching a meeting with the Pyro Archon. If you want to avoid character spoilers (and have managed to do so until now), you should stop reading here. Several preview videos and posts have already been released. For example, we have Mualani, Kinich, and Kachina, for whom some background information is available. The official videos also show the Pyro Archon, Mavuika, and another Fatui Harbinger: Capitano.
There is certainly praise and hype for the new characters, but also a lot of criticism from fans. The region of Natlan is inspired by South American and African cultures, but almost all of the teased characters have been depicted with white skin.
Exploration: New Landscapes
If you love exploring Genshin’s open-world map and that’s a big part of your gaming experience, you can already look forward to the new areas that will have plenty to discover. Along with treasures and new domains, the Saurians will also make an appearance and assist you on your journey.
