We have left the beginning of spring behind us and can now eagerly look forward to the anime lineup for the coming months. The past winter months have delighted us with the cinematic masterpiece "The Boy and the Heron" from Studio Ghibli, a long-awaited third season of Blue Exorcist, and more cinema highlights from Haikyu!! and Demon Slayer - the list goes on. But now let's turn our attention to the upcoming seasons and new releases coming out in April and May. Here we go!
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime - Season 3
You've probably heard of this crazy isekai anime before. The third season of the series, which has been adapted into an anime since 2018, will be released on April 5, 2024. The light novel source material by Taiki Kawakami has been on the market since 2015. The anime follows Satoru Mikami, who dies violently one day but awakens in a completely different world. As the title suggests, he is not reincarnated as a human, but as a slime!
Black Butler Season 4 - Public School Arc
Fans of the Black Butler manga series have experienced quite a bit with the anime adaptation. The first season was released in 2009 but deviated noticeably from Yana Toboso's manga source material. This trend continued with the second season, making season 3 a very positive surprise. With Book of Circus, the story of Ciel Phantomhive and his demonic butler continued as told in the manga and was a lot of fun to watch. Season 4 finally continues the story with the Public School Arc starting on April 13, 2024! You can watch the series in its original version on Crunchyroll.
Kaiju No. 8
If you've been frequenting manga and comic shops lately, you've probably come across this manga series by Naoya Matsumoto. The series has been running since 2020 and now an anime adaptation by Production I.G is also coming out. Season 1 starts on Crunchyroll on April 13, 2024, initially in its original version. The series follows Kafka, who lives in a world full of monsters and joins the Defense Corps to eradicate them. Guaranteed suspense and horror elements!
My Hero Academia - Season 7
It's hard to believe that we're already at season 7 of My Hero Academia! While the story in Kohei Horikoshi's manga is slowly coming to an end, the anime is also taking a big leap forward. On May 4, 2024, the Shōnen action centered around Izuku Midoriya and his friends continues - even though everything is getting darker and darker.
Demon Slayer - Hashira Training Arc
The movie "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - To the Hashira Training" gave us a glimpse into what's next for Demon Slayer, but on May 12, 2024, we will finally see the next episodes of the series as well. The anime adaptation has now reached the Hashira Training Arc from Koyoharu Gotōge's manga source material; so alongside Tanjirō, we will also see a lot more of the Hashira. The battle against demons continues. And we can also look forward to seeing how one of the most popular animes of our time progresses!
