Unexpected news from Callejon has surfaced. The band has announced that three of its members will be leaving later this year. Here are the details.
It's quite a shock. Callejon has announced on their official channels that three of their members will be leaving the band in 2024. These members are Bernhard Horn (guitar), Christoph Koterzina (guitar), and Maximilian Kotzmann (drums) – known as Berni, Kotsche, and Kotze. This leaves only vocalist Bastian Sobtzick and bassist Thorsten Becker remaining. So, what led to this development?
A Message To The Fans
The message shared by Callejon today gives us a good understanding of the situation. With heavy hearts, Callejon will part ways with Berni, Kotsche, and Kotze, but the band will continue to exist. A new album is already in the works. The departing members will also continue to make music. Berni and Kotsche will be pursuing a new project as a duo, exploring different musical genres. Kotze will focus on his other activities, including his work as a producer. Nevertheless, the guys will still perform together during this year's festival season and intend to enjoy it fully.
It doesn’t sound like there’s any bad blood among the band members. As they’ve stated, “sometimes it’s just that paths diverge.”
Despite the sudden announcement, we’re eager to see what Berni, Kotsche, and Kotze will deliver in the future and what the next Callejon album will sound like.
