Recently, a short video was posted by Mike Shinoda on his X profile (formerly Twitter). It's only 23 seconds long and quite dark. Not much more than his hair can be seen and only a very loud electric shaver can be heard. What's it all about?
Off With The Hair!
When Mike posted the video on August 31, 2023, he wrote nothing about it except "soon". Of course, that leaves a lot of room for interpretation for now.
By now, however, it is clear that this refers to a new Linkin Park era, for which Shinoda is preparing himself. The next post from September 2 confirmed this with the short but meaningful caption "New era".
As you can see on X, the reaction from fans and also musicians is massive. Finally, news from Linkin Park. There hasn't been a new studio album since 2017's One More Light. The tragic death of Chester Bennington left the band facing a difficult time. In 2023, the hit album Meteora celebrated its 20th birthday and received an Anniversary Edition with numerous live songs and demos, which you can also listen to on Spotify. There was also a new single titled "Lost", plus a unique animated music video.
