The Finnish winter lasts for about six months. Six months of darkness and cold - Maybe that explains why most of the songs by the Finnish Dark-Rock band HIM (short form for His Infernal Majesty) are so dark and depressing. In 1996 Ville Valo started HIM with a few friends. Although he was intended to be the bass player and even drummer of the band, he was later forced to be the lead singer - Simply because nobody else wanted to do it. However Vile wanted to have a band so bad, he did everything for his dream...and it paid off! With songs like 'Join Me (In Death)', 'Right Here In My Arms' and 'The Funeral of Hearts' HIM soon got successful. In 2013 the eighth and to date last HIM record was released, Tears On Tape.
HIM Legacy
There is one symbol that you can find in almost every design of HIM shirts: The so called heartagram: A symbol combining a heart and pentagram.
