Slipknot Parts Ways with Craig Jones The news about Slipknot just doesn't stop! The band is set for a European summer tour this year, but there will be several members we won't see on stage.
After parting ways with their longtime percussionist Chris Fehn in 2019, Slipknot has now also separated from their keyboardist and sampler Craig “133” Jones. The band's statement was published on their social media channels on June 7, 2023, but has since been deleted. Instead, a few hours ago, a photo of a masked individual was posted, presumably showing the new band member.
Here's the original statement from the band:
"To our fans, Slipknot is announcing that we have parted ways with Craig Jones. We wish Jones all the best for the future."
As expected, the reaction from fans has been strong; after all, Craig Jones has been a part of Slipknot since 1996. Reasons for this latest lineup change have not been disclosed. There has also been no name given for the person behind the new mask on social media—some fans speculate it might still be Craig. Moreover, the band just kicked off their tour at the Nova Rock Festival, where this new, unknown band member was already performing.
But Craig Jones is not the only one who will be missing from the upcoming live shows. There was another message to the Slipknot fans from “Clown” (Shawn Crahan), stating that he will be supporting his wife through health issues and will return to performances as soon as possible. When exactly we will see Shawn again remains uncertain.
