Are you ready to set the battlefield on fire? The World of Tanks Metalfest is back – louder, harder, and wilder than ever before! From July 30th to August 20th, experience the legendary sounds of Motörhead and Rob Zombie directly in your favorite game.
Motörhead in WOT - Technology Makes it Possible
The World of Tanks team has spared no effort to bring these rock icons into the game. Particularly impressive is the homage to the unforgettable Lemmy Kilmister of Motörhead, who sadly passed away on December 28, 2015. Thanks to cutting-edge technology, his distinctive voice lives on in the game.
“Motörhead helped us develop the voices of Warpig and Lemmy. With Lemmy, it was clear that a sound imitation would lack an essential level of authenticity,” explains Brendan Blewett, Audio Director of World of Tanks Modern Armor. “So we worked with the band to create an AI emulation of Lemmy’s voice, based on original voice samples from his private, unreleased archives, including interviews and raw studio recordings.”
Motörhead fans are in for a treat. To match the event, there’s a brand-new tank inspired by the anthem “Ace of Spades.” You can also get a skin for the FV107 Scimitar tank, dedicated to the song “Bomber.” These metal beasts are commanded by two fully voiced 3D commanders: Lemmy himself and Motörhead’s mascot, Warpig. Additionally, there are 2D commanders of the Motörhead band members, along with a collection of cool cosmetic items and goodies.
Rob Zombie Brings Shock Rock to the Battlefield
The master of musical macabre, Rob Zombie, is also joining the fray. Dominate the battlefield with Rob Zombie content, including a new tank and a skin for the M53/M55, based on his hits “Dragula” and “Superbeast.” Rob Zombie himself will be available as a 3D commander, along with exclusive cosmetic items to make your tank even more fearsome.
The Return of the Metal Titans
If you rocked out last year, then you’re in for a treat: the titans of the Metal Fest are back this August! Iron Maiden, Megadeth, and Sabaton are making a limited-time comeback. So, get ready to rock the battlefield like never before. This year, the Metalfest in World of Tanks Modern Armor will be a party for the ages!
