Gamescom 2024 has opened its doors, and within the first few hours, some of the most exciting games of the upcoming year were presented. From long-awaited sequels like "Call of Duty: Black Ops 6"  "Borderlands 4" and "Monster Hunter Wilds" to brand new titles like "Dune Awakening" – here's everything you need to know, including first trailers.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6

The unveiling of "Call of Duty: Black Ops 6" was undoubtedly one of the highlights of the Opening Night. The first gameplay trailer, which you can watch here, shows impressive sequences that give us a good first impression of the game's graphics and action, and make us eager for more. Further information about the upcoming blockbuster shooter will be presented at 'Call of Duty NEXT' on August 28.

Borderlands 4

The next major highlight wasn't far behind: 2K Games and Gearbox Software have announced that the long-awaited fourth installment of the Borderlands series will be released next year. The teaser trailer unfortunately doesn't reveal much about what to expect in Part 4, but it still whets the appetite for more.

Monster Hunter Wilds

In 2025, "Monster Hunter Wilds," the latest installment in the Monster Hunter series, will be released. A fresh trailer, shown during the Opening Night, introduces two new monsters: the Wool Spider and the Electro Dragon, which were playable for the first time in Cologne.

Dune Awakening

The new MMO "Dune Awakening" could finally be the long-awaited adequate video game adaptation of the Dune universe that fans have been longing for. Following the visual success of Denis Villeneuve's films, the game adopts a similar aesthetic to transport us into the world of Frank Herbert.

Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO

Son Goku, Vegeta, and the others once again showed their best side in the trailer released yesterday for "Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO," with the video game series returning in just about six weeks with its latest installment. The fighting game, featuring over 100 characters, promises fans exciting battles and hours of gameplay.

Persona 3 Reload

For fans of the Persona series, there is also good news: The "Episode Aigis" expansion for Perosna 3 Reload, which features a new trailer showing Joker from "Persona 5," will be released on September 10.
