1. Nemo
For many, "Nemo" is inseparable from Nightwish – and no, it's not about the little clownfish! This track from the album Once (2004) catapulted the band into the spotlight of mainstream metal. Tarja Turunen's powerful vocals combined with the epic orchestral arrangements make “Nemo” an absolute fan favorite.
2. Wish I Had An Angel
With driving guitar riffs and electronic influences, "Wish I Had An Angel" shows Nightwish’s heavier side. Tarja Turunen and Marko Hietala deliver an energy-packed duet, and the song from Once is the perfect mix of metal and experimentation. Definitely a must-hear!
3. Amaranth
With “Amaranth” (2007), a new era for Nightwish began. It was the second single featuring Anette Olzon as lead vocalist, proving that the band retained their signature sound despite the change in frontwoman. Catchy melodies and deep lyrics make this song a real earworm.
4. The Phantom of the Opera
The ultimate metal duet: Tarja Turunen and Marko Hietala give the musical classic "The Phantom of the Opera" a dark, fresh depth. A truly epic moment from the album “Century Child” (2002) and still a highlight at Nightwish concerts.
5. Élan
"Élan" was the first song Nightwish released with their current singer, Floor Jansen. The track from Endless Forms Most Beautiful (2015) immediately captivates with its playful melodies and Floor’s powerful voice. A true milestone in the band’s history.
6. Bye Bye Beautiful
This powerful track is all about change and a fresh start after the switch from Tarja to Anette. "Bye Bye Beautiful" from Dark Passion Play (2008) is a live hit, showcasing the immense energy that Nightwish bring to their music.
7. Storytime
"Storytime" is the epitome of the Nightwish sound – bombastic orchestration and poetic lyrics that take you into the magical world of Imaginaerum (2011). This song is a perfect example of how Nightwish seamlessly blend storytelling with epic music.
