The Game Awards 2024 will take place on December 12 in Los Angeles, California! With the nominations now announced, you can check out our list below and cast your votes to support your favorite games of the year. Choose wisely - what were your top picks this year?
Game Highlights And Favorites Of The Year
A total of 29 categories will be awarded, each with five nominations. At the top of the list is the ever-popular Game of the Year category. Last year, Baldur’s Gate 3 took the crown; this year, contenders include Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, and Black Myth: Wukong. Notably, Baldur’s Gate 3 is still in the running, nominated for Best Community Support - undoubtedly still a Game of the Year in 2024 for many devoted fans, as its player numbers continue to soar.
The Best Adaptation category is a hot topic this year, with the second season of "Arcane", the League of Legends adaptation, fresh on everyone’s minds. Even Twenty One Pilots will be performing live at the event, showcasing their new song “The Line” from the sountrack. With the massive success of the series, it’s hard to imagine any competition. However, the "Fallout" series, which debuted this spring to great fan reception and Prime’s success, is also a contender.
This fall also saw a nostalgic wave of horror with the Silent Hill 2 remake, earning it nominations in Best Narrative, Best Score and Music, Best Audio Design, and Best Action/Adventure.
Lastly, the Most Anticipated Game award features favorites like Ghost of Yotei, Monster Hunter Wilds, and Death Stranding 2 - On the Beach. However, GTA 6 is likely the frontrunner this year.
