The American rock band played a tribute concert in 2022 in memory of their longtime drummer Taylor Hawkins. Now, this concert has been nominated for an Emmy.

Taylor Hawkins had been an integral part of the Foo Fighters since 1997. The shock was all the more severe when he unexpectedly passed away on March 25, 2022, during their "Medicine At Midnight" world tour. The tour was canceled, but Taylor's bandmates and friends performed two tribute concerts in the fall of the same year. The first took place on September 3 in London. Another was held in Los Angeles on September 27.

The London tribute concert, held at Wembley Stadium, was streamed live and also filmed. The nomination for this film is in the category "Sound Mixing For A Variety Series Or Special," as announced on July 12. Nominated alongside the Foo Fighters are these candidates:

  1. Bono & The Edge: A Sort of Homecoming with Dave Letterman
  2. Elton John Live: Farewell from Dodger Stadium
  3. Saturday Night Live
  4. The 65th Annual Grammy Awards

This year, the 75th Emmy Awards will take place in Los Angeles. The event is scheduled for September 18 and will be broadcast live. So tune in and cheer on the Foo Fighters! If you haven't listened to their new album yet, now is the time. You can find "But Here We Are" from 2023, of course, in our online shop.
