Summer is coming to an end, and with it, the anime summer season, which brought several impressive newcomers and sequels. But the fall season also holds major highlights, including the anime adaptation of Junji Ito’s “Uzumaki”, the third season of “Re:ZERO” and “Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 3”. Here are our must-watch highlights for the upcoming fall season!
Uzumaki
On September 28, the long-awaited anime adaptation of Junji Ito’s renowned horror manga “Uzumaki” will finally arrive. For those unfamiliar with the story, here’s a small teaser:
In the town of Kurouzu, strange things are happening. More and more residents are descending into madness, and everything seems to be connected to mysterious spirals. At first, Kirie doesn’t believe in the dark theories of her friend Shuichi, but soon, logical explanations vanish, and the horror spreads in ever-widening circles...
Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 3
Bleach returns on October 5 with the third part of the “Thousand-Year Blood War” arc. The trailer offers a sneak peek at the two new theme songs: the opening “Kotoba ni Sezutomo” by Six Lounge, and the ending “MONOCHROME” by Suisoh.
The series continues to be produced by Studio Pierrot under the direction of Tomohisa Taguchi and will be exclusively available on Disney+.
Re Season 3
After two successful seasons, “Re:ZERO ”returns with its third season, putting Subaru and Emilia through new challenges. Subaru must face the consequences of his decisions from previous seasons, while we gain deeper insight into Emilia’s ambitions in the royal selection.
The season is directed by Masahiro Shinohara at Studio White Fox, with familiar voice actors like Rie Takahashi and Yuusuke Kobayashi reprising their lead roles. The third season will be available on Crunchyroll starting October 2.
Blue Exorcist - Beyond the Snow Saga
This fall season also sees the return of “Blue Exorcist”. The “Beyond the Snow Saga” arc will premiere on October 5, 2024, and will be available as a simulcast on Crunchyroll. The opening theme is performed by Japanese singer-songwriter Reol. The continuation, “The Blue Night Saga”, will follow in January 2025.
Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online II
On October 5, the second season of the “Sword Art Online” spin-off “Gun Gale Online” will also premiere. “Gun Gale Online” revolves around VR battles using firearms. The series is produced by Studio 3Hz and once again delivers thrilling action. The opening song “GG” is performed by Japanese singer ReoNa. A first glimpse into the second season’s storyline can be seen in the trailer.
