After almost forty years of band history, Sepultura has announced their disbanding. But they will bid farewell to their fans in style and go on a big tour in 2024.

"Sepultura has reached the end of the road and has chosen to depart via a conscious and planned death."

A shock for all fans worldwide; Sepultura has decided to dissolve. But you can't be mad. After all, the Brazilian band will celebrate their 40th anniversary next year. But it is still difficult to let go of such a long-known band. That's why it's worth experiencing them live one last time. We'll of course reveal the tour dates, but first let's take a look back at the career of the metalheads.

The journey started in 1984, during the heyday of Metal. At that time, no one could have foreseen that they would become one of the most influential Metal bands in the world. But the guys were always hardworking, as their discography now includes a total of 15 studio albums. They released their debut Morbid Visions in 1986 and achieved international breakthrough with albums like Beneath the Remains (1989), Arise (1991), and Chaos A.D. (1993). Roots from 1996 is also one of their most successful albums and received a Grammy nomination. But since then, a lot has happened with a new album every few years, including their latest work Quadra from 2020. Sepultura has managed to reinvent themselves over four decades while maintaining their unmistakable sound. And that's Thrash Metal, initially with raw influences from Death Metal and even Black Metal, but later with more focus on Alternative Metal and Hardcore.

The joy of experimenting and successful sound surely comes in part from some band members of their current lineup being part of the band since the 80s. This includes singer Derrick Green, guitarist Andreas Kisser, and bassist Paulo Xisto Pinto Jr. - he has been with them since the founding year. They know each other, they know their sound, and they have known their fans for years! Throughout their career, they have written countless hits and delivered live performances full of energy and passion. Their music and lyrics were characterized by political and social themes.
