Machine Gun Kelly just released his new song "dont let me go" on February 21, 2024. In the song, he also talks about his current mental state and why he has tattooed most of his upper body black. Contrary to initial speculations, this song will not be featured on the upcoming album genre:sadboy. Instead, on March 26, 2024, the first single from the album titled "lost boys" was released, which was recorded with American rapper Trippie Redd. Trippie is also featured on the album cover and has been involved in the production process of the entire album, making it a significant collaboration! The album will be released this Friday, on March 29, 2024.

MGK's recent albums have been heavily inspired by Pop-Punk, starting with Tickets To My Downfall in 2020. Whether we will get these vibes here again or if Rap takes precedence remains to be seen.
