Maik Weichert from Heaven Shall Burn comments:
“HSB and DONOTS might not seem compatible at first, but when it comes to musical philosophy and political attitude, we’re on the same wavelength and have been friends for ages.”
He further explains:
“We’ve been telling each other for ages that we needed to do something together, and we felt the time was right. The Donots are a powerhouse when it comes to musical drive, live insanity, and clear political messaging. They represent the values we uphold! It was important to us that this collaboration wasn’t just a sterile guest appearance – both bands had to work together on an equal footing to shape the song. We’re thrilled with the result; it departs significantly from each band’s usual sound while still feeling true to us. We’re excited to see how it’s received by fans. The lyrics are very relevant and important to us, and we hope they resonate with many people!”
Ingo Donot shares how excited the band was about the collaboration:
“Heaven Shall Burn are, for me, one of the most extraordinary and best guitar bands of our time, and they’ve rightfully become one of the country’s biggest metal acts. Their activism against far-right ideologies makes the band even more valuable, as such clear positioning is still all too rare in the metal scene. That’s where the punk and hardcore roots of HSB shine through, making this collaboration so fitting for me. We’ve always supported a peaceful, united future and backed NGOs like ‘Kein Bock Auf Nazis.’ Not only do both bands share a similar subcultural background, but Guido and I are also big fans of metal, so it was a pleasure to work with HSB. The result is fantastic, and we’re grateful for the idea and the invitation! Dying a dramatic death in a remote village hall at the end of the video was totally worth it.”
Sounds like a successful collaboration. Now, all that's left is to wait for the music video and keep the song on repeat!
