What a day to remember this will be: System Of A Down and Deftones co-headlining a concert in the historic Golden Gate Park in San Francisco! The concert is set for August 17, 2024, and it won't just be them—there will be additional special guests!
First Concert in Golden Gate Park
Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, California, is one of the largest urban parks in the world, even larger than New York's Central Park! Until now, there hasn’t been a concert of this kind in Golden Gate Park, only the well-known Outside Lands Festival, which will take place again this year from August 9-11. What’s different this year: One of the stages will not be dismantled at the end of the festival, but will be left standing for none other than System Of A Down and Deftones! Joining them will be The Mars Volta, Viagra Boys, and Vowws. Those who can be there are truly fortunate, not only because System Of A Down has rarely performed live in recent years, but also because this event is a one-time occurrence that won’t happen again! However, it’s planned that other annual concerts will be held in Golden Gate Park in the future; we can look forward to what the lineup will bring in the coming years.

System Of A Down 2024: Also Live in Europe?
The last time we saw System Of A Down in Germany was in 2017 at their concert in Berlin. Since then, their fans have sorely missed them, as there has been little new music and no new European dates. In 2020, they released the songs “Protect The Land” and “Genocidal Humanoidz,” but afterward, it went quiet again around one of the world’s most influential metal bands.
Unfortunately, there are still no good news regarding an EU tour. Serj Tankian, their lead singer, has stated:
"After many years and all the travels that come with it, it simply is not a top priority in my life."
It looks like it will remain at the two shows for System Of A Down in 2024, with the first one being played this month at the Sick New World Festival in Las Vegas.
