Highlights & Impressions

Where to begin? The action started early in the afternoon on the Main Stage (Utopia Stage) with Flogging Molly, followed by a powerful performance from Jinjer. We didn’t have to wait long for the first stunts, as Fever 333 delivered immediately. Frontman Jason Butler climbed the railings of the Media Tower during their final song, ending the set high above with a mic drop. A breather for the audience? Not for long, as the first special guest hit the Utopia Stage: Olaf der Flipper. For the first time, Rock am Ring fans could really showcase their karaoke skills, singing along to “Daaankeschön” and they didn’t want to stop! There was roaring applause for the 15-minute surprise performance. Yungblud then fired up the crowd, bringing passion to every song. Fans moshed to tracks like “Sex not Violence” and “Fleabag.” After this exhilarating set, Limp Bizkit was ready to go. Their ballad “Behind Blue Eyes” was a must, with vocal participation from the crowd. And Fred Durst even asked the fans which song they wanted as an encore. Which one could it be? “Break Stuff” had everyone going wild in the audience again.

What was happening on the other stages? At the Orbit Stage, Motionless In White had the crowd buzzing. No song went uncelebrated, with mosh pits left and right, and one crowdsurfer after another. Chris Motionless wished everyone a “Happy Pride Month.” Thank you! At the end of “Eternally Yours,” he handed out roses to the fans. Following the American metalcore band, Canadian band Silverstein provided more mosh-worthy material.

The day's headliners were Foo Fighters with their new drummer Josh Freese, who introduced himself with an extensive drum solo. Nearly the entire festival grounds listened to Dave Grohl’s singing. With emotional speeches, Foo Fighters expressed their connection with the audience and their gratitude.

Closing Act & Pyro

As the final act of the day, Apache 207 performed on the Mandora Stage; a stunning show complete with pyrotechnics and a closing fireworks display. The German rapper took a boat tour amidst his fans during his performance. What a festive farewell! The first day of Rock am Ring ended, and we're excited for what Saturday will bring with numerous other bands. Are you excited too?

Be sure to stop by our Impericon stand if you haven’t already, and check out our Instagram for live updates from the festival. Here’s to a fantastic continuation of Rock am Ring!
