We are presenting: Samurai Pizza Cats! The Metalcore band from Germany lives up to their name and will definitely bring heavy vibes to the Impericon Festivals 2024.

The band name "Samurai Pizza Cats" might already tell you enough about the Metalcore group. If you already know them, you know why. If not, you should definitely get to know them at our Impericon Festivals 2024! After all, they have been active since 2021 and consistently impress with strong music, boundless humor, and features from the scene! Their debut album You're Hellcome was released in 2023 and is a must for fans of Trancecore and Deathcore. Alternatively, you can also call it "CatCore". We are already looking forward to their performance and therefore want to introduce yout o the band today. All event details can be found below!

Where Do The Samurai Pizza Cats Come From?

Just like Electric Callboy, Samurai Pizza Cats also come from Castrop-Rauxel in the Ruhr area. The two bands are actually closely connected because Electric Callboy guitarist Daniel Haniß is also the guitarist of Samurai Pizza Cats! The cat project was started by four scene colleagues who already knew each other from different bands. Daniel Haniß was already active in the band Her Smile In Grief before Electric Callboy and therefore knew their singer Sebastian Fischer, who now also stands at the mic for Samurai Pizza Cats. Their drummer Stefan Buchwald knew him from the band Fall Of Gaia. And together with bassist Stefan Reufer, the four-piece group of pizza lovers was complete!

Samurai Pizza Cats Bandmerch

In their founding year, they released their first single "You're Hellcome", which was recorded together with singer Alma Alizadeh from For I Am King. Then came the next feature on "Freakshow", with Maria Lessing from Future Palace! It doesn't stop there because even on subsequent singles, there was support from the scene: Fabio Schäfer from Bury The Liar was featured on "Welcome To The Fightclub," and German rapper and actress Mrs. Nina Chartier (Nina Menke) was featured on "Alpha."

In 2022, they released the first single for their debut album You're Hellcome, "Outcast," for the first time without a feature but just as strong! The debut was released on September 22, 2023 and includes the wonderful song "Pizza Homicide," whose music video we simply have to include here. How do you feel about pineapple on pizza…?

Around Christmas time, there was new input again, this time in the form of a cover. What better choice than the most annoying Christmas song ever, "Last Christmas"? That's probably what the guys thought too and then put it into action.

Metalcore Band And Anime Lovers

The name is already crazy, but how did it come about? "Samurai Pizza Cats" is the title of an anime series from 1990 that revolves around three cats named Speedy Cerviche, Guido Anchovy, and Polly Esther who run a pizzeria in a fictional city. Of course, pizza and cats are also loved by the musicians from the Ruhr area, and on stage you can absolutely feel like a samurai. So, inspiration came from the world of anime!

Live: The Impericon Festivals 2024

We are excited that Samurai Pizza Cats will be playing at this year's Impericon Festivals in Leipzig and Oberhausen, and will definitely spread a lot of high spirits. Who knows if we can look forward to a live feature with Future Palace? In any case, it will be a crazy setlist with many songs from You're Hellcome! By the way, While She Sleeps, August Burns Red and many other bands will also be there. So we'll see you in March!

Please note: The lineup varies from date to date.
