With Metallica, Ghost and Spiritbox, a number of heavy metal bands and scene acts have made it into the Grammy nominations for 2024! You can find all the nominations in the metal and rock genres here.

In February 2024, it's time for the Grammy Awards, a highly prestigious prize in the music industry. Rock and Metal will also be represented there. No fewer than four categories are dedicated to the genres and we have listed all the nominations for 2024 below. There might even be a few of your favorite bands among them this time!

Best Rock Album

In the first rock category, the best album of the genre is honored. This time you can find bands like Metallica and Paramore in it! The new Metallica album 72 Seasons was released in April 2023. No wonder it's represented here! Just as deserving is the nomination of But Here We Are by the Foo Fighters, their first longplayer since the tragic death of their drummer Taylor Hawkins.

  • But Here We Are - Foo Fighters

  • Starcatcher - Greta Van Fleet

  • 72 Seasons - Metallica

  • This Is Why - Paramore

  • In Times New Roman... - Queens of the Stone Age

Best Rock Song

The Foo Fighters make another appearance here, with the song "Rescued" from the new album. The first single from the album will certainly be remembered by fans and there may even be a Grammy for it! However, The Rolling Stones have also released a new album and are not getting tired of making new music. "Angry" from Hackney Diamonds is also nominated, as is "Emotion Sickness" by Queens of the Stone Age.

  • Not Strong Enough - Boygenius

  • Rescued - Foo Fighters

  • Ballad of a Homeschooled Girl - Olivia Rodrigo

  • Emotion Sickness - Queens of the Stone Age

  • Angry - The Rolling Stones

Best Rock Performance

Next up are the best performances, and here too we find both Metallica and the Foo Fighters! But we also have the popular British band Arctic Monkeys with the song "Sculptures of Anything Goes". Difficult decision!

  • Sculptures of Anything Goes - Arctic Monkeys

  • More Than a Love Song - Black Pumas

  • Not Strong Enough - Boygenius

  • Rescued - Foo Fighters

  • Lux Æterna - Metallica

Best Metal Performance

This is where Metal finally comes in, which makes the choice all the more difficult. Lots of great artists! In addition to Metallica, Disturbed are also included with the song "Bad Man", as are Slipknot with "Hive Mind" from their album The End, So Far. Ghost also made it back to the Grammys with "Phantom of the Opera". They previously won this category in 2016 with their song "Cirice". The most exciting nomination, however, is probably that of the Canadian band Spiritbox with their song "Jaded" from their album The Fear of Fear, which was only released this month. It's only the band's second album and follows their successful 2021 debut Eternal Blue. We're keeping our fingers crossed!

  • Bad Man - Disturbed

  • Phantom of the Opera - Ghost

  • 72 Seasons - Metallica

  • Hive Mind - Slipknot

  • Jaded - Spiritbox
