Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in Pop Culture

Since 1984, the Ninja Turtles have been jumping across comic book pages, with countless issues telling their story. The originals were published by Archie Comics, Image Comics, and Mirage Publishing. In issues from 2014, the colorful turtles even meet Batman and the Ghostbusters. Cool comics naturally turn into powerful adaptations. Between 1986 and 1997, the animated series based on the comics aired on CBS, in Germany on RTL and TM3. In the 90s, a live-action series about the Turtles was produced. More series, movies, and adaptations followed. In 2014, the film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was released, created in collaboration with filmmaker Michael Bay and Megan Fox in a leading role. Just two years later, the sequel Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows hit theaters. For gamers and all those who want to become one, there is a wide range of Turtles games available on almost all platforms - particularly well-known are the beat 'em ups, which are still very popular today.
