It's been 20 years since Sum 41 started a second pop punk wave, together with bands like Blink-182 and New Found Glory - All of those bands of which are still big in business. New Found Glory released RESURRECTION back in 2014, Blink-182 came back with CALIFORNIA in 2016 and in the same year, Sum 41 will release a new record: 13 VOICES, out October 7th. 13 VOICES is a special record for the whole band, but especially for lead singer Deryck Whibley. After his band reached the pop punk peak with the debut ALL KILLER, NO FILLER (2001) and the equally as successful CHUCK (2004), Deryck fought with a heavy alcohol addiction. In 2014 he collapsed in his kitchen and didn't wake up until one week later. Straight out of the hospital he began working on new Sum 41 material in his home studio. The result: 13 VOICES, of which Deryck Whibley says today: "13 VOICES saved my life."
