Leggings are no longer just a fashion statement of the 80s. They are now worn for sports, everyday activities, or parties – paired with pants, skirts, and dresses. Their biggest advantage: the comfortable fit. Thanks to the elastane content, leggings always adapt to your movements, making them the perfect piece of clothing for gymnastics and yoga, as well as a cozy evening on the couch. Depending on your preference, you can choose between high waist or low waist. Most of our leggings are made from cotton, providing a comfortable feel against your skin. At Impericon, you can also find sustainable products made from organic cotton. For a comfortable everyday look, we recommend checking out the brand Urban Classics. If you want to enhance your individual Gothic look, be sure to explore the designs from Killstar and Black Craft Cult. For athletes, brands like The North Face and Champion offer great inspiration!

The History of Leggings

Originally, leggings were made from leather and designed to protect the skin from thorns and cold. The predecessors of today's leggings were particularly popular among indigenous tribes in North America. In the 80s, leggings were almost omnipresent, worn not only for sports activities like cycling, ballet, or aerobics but also at parties. The hallmark of 80s leggings was the bright colors. From 2006, this trend reappeared in wardrobes everywhere, not just in neon colors but also with leopard prints, camouflage, shimmer effects, and glitter. Variants of leggings include "jeggings" and "treggings". Jeggings are leggings with a denim look, while treggings are a cross between tight pants and classic leggings.
