Die Toten Hosen Merchandise

Days like these, when the songs of Die Toten Hosen give you goosebumps, have been around for over 35 years. Cult status, pioneers of the German music scene, and punk rock legends. With just three chords, they continue to captivate new generations with their music. This talent has earned them top chart positions and millions of album sales.

The early years of Die Toten Hosen

Inspired by the punk movement of the 80s, the band around frontman Campino was founded in 1982 as a fun project. This happened within a few hours as the successor to ZK, the previous project of Breiti and Campino. Announced as Die Toten Hasen, Andreas Frege aka Campino, who got his nickname from a candy fight during school, and his buddies Breiti (Michael Breitkopf), Kuddel (Andreas von Holst), Andi (Andreas Meurer), and Wölli (Wolfgang Rhode) soon played their first concert together in Bremen. Initially, it required die-hard fans because the guys were more like servants than masters of their instruments, as they themselves say. However, the simple yet politically engaged punk rock caught on, and the fan base grew. Especially in the left-alternative scene, Die Hosen soon became well-known.

Here comes Alex - Die Hosen's first chart placement

DTH didn't give up and wanted their breakthrough. This time with the stage music for the play A Clockwork Orange. They succeeded - the album titled EIN KLEINES BISSCHEN HORRORSHOW and the song "Hier kommt Alex" became a success. The band and their skull logo embedded themselves in people's minds. That was in 1988, six years after Die Toten Hosen were founded. They reached number one on the album charts two years later with AUF DEM KREUZZUG INS GLÜCK. In the early 90s, Die Hosen played concerts around the world. This included shows with music legends like the Rolling Stones, U2, and Green Day. Since then, Die Toten Hosen merch has become a staple in any well-stocked, German rock-loving wardrobe. You don't have a Die Toten Hosen T-shirt yet, and you're missing their vinyl or CD? You can buy a wide range of the punk rockers' merch from us.

Political engagement

Through their clear statements against right-wing extremism, racism, and their engagement in social projects, DTH earned the respect of their loyal fan base. The song "Sascha... Ein aufrechter Deutscher" hasn't lost its relevance even today. It was performed again at the #WIRSINDMEHR open-air concert in Chemnitz in 2018. They address societal problems instead of ignoring them. Thank you for that! In this sense - punk rock to the bitter end and beyond.
