The Success Story Of Berserk

Since Guts first appeared in 1988, a total of 41 volumes have been published to date. The first issue was called Berserk: The Prototype and was a one-shot. The first ran from 1997 to 1998 on the Japanese channel Nippon TV. Twenty-five episodes were produced and, due to the manga's success, were released on DVD in Germany in 2003. A new version of the series was released in 2016 and included 12 episodes. Universal Pictures was responsible for the DVD and Blu-ray release. The series was well-received by fans, leading to the production of a second season. Since then, there have been various new adaptations of the original material.
