Concerts, autograph sessions for the Metallica photo book, the Metallica Film Festival, and a tribute band: all in one weekend. Munich will be the gathering place for Metallica fans this May!
From May 23 to 26, 2024, Munich will be all about Metallica. The band's latest album, 72 Seasons, has just celebrated its first anniversary, and the band is kicking off their 72 Seasons Tour. The tour stops in Munich at the end of May, where an endless array of events is planned! For fans, this is the ultimate chance to see the band live, meet lots of like-minded people, and participate in various events. Read more below!
Two Concerts, Two Days, Two Setlists
Metallica will perform their concerts at the Olympic Stadium on May 24 and 26. For fans staying for several days to soak up as much Metallica spirit as possible, there are 2-day tickets available, allowing attendance at both shows. Each concert will feature different support bands and Metallica will play completely different setlists with no repeated songs. Architects and Mammoth WVH will support the first date, while Five Finger Death Punch and Ice Nine Kills will be there for the second.
Autograph Session with Ross Halfin
On Saturday, May 25, Ross Halfin, the creator of “Metallica: The Black Album in Black & White,” will be available to answer questions and sign autographs. Halfin is a photographer who compiled black-and-white photographs from recording sessions and tours in his 2021 book. He was with the band during the Black Album era, one of the most pivotal chapters in Metallica's history. The session starts at 12:30 PM, and tickets are available here.
The Metallica Film Festival
Also on Saturday, the Metallica Film Festival will take place at 4:30 PM at the same location as Ross Halfin's autograph session. The festival will feature three films from three different Metallica eras:
- Cliff ‘Em All Cunning
- Stunts Orgullo
- Pasión y Gloria
My’Tallica - Tribute Band
Even though Metallica isn't performing on May 25, you can still experience their music live. At 8:00 PM, the well-known tribute band My’Tallica will perform at the Backstage. Tickets for this concert are available here.
