Mastodon are turning up the heat! They posted a mysterious video on Instagram that reads, "A flood is coming... and most of you will die," along with the date September 12, 2024, in Roman numerals.

What does it mean? Hard to say, but Lamb Of God are tagged in the post – though they haven’t dropped any teasers themselves yet. Are we getting a joint track or maybe even a split? We’re not sure yet, but we’ll find out next week!

Metal Injection is speculating that Mastodon and Lamb Of God might cover each other’s songs from their iconic albums Leviathan and Ashes Of The Wake. Both bands could definitely do justice to the other’s music, and since they’ve been playing together almost every night on tour, this wouldn’t be much of a shock.

While Lamb Of God have been pretty quiet with new material recently, Mastodon are the opposite. Drummer Brann Dailor recently said in an interview with Rock 100.5 The KATT FM, "There’s a lot of new material and a lot of new sttuff. Something new could be coming out very, very soon." Could that be on September 12?
